Horizons Restaurant is the sit-down restaurant at Living Sky Casino, open every day from 11 AM to 10 PM. The casino describes a sit-down meal there with friendly service. No menus or prices are published, so the team cannot tell you what will be on the plate or what it costs. A SIGA Rewards card takes 10% off the regular price at the casino's restaurants, and the card costs nothing. Since Horizons closes at 10 PM, timing is the main thing to plan. The supper planner beside this section checks how late you can still sit down and eat without rushing.

A late bite at the Deli & Bar

The Deli & Bar at Living Sky Casino is the quick option, and it stays open later than Horizons. Casual bites come from the deli counter, Kookum's Kitchen dishes among them, and the bar side pours spirits and pints. Doors open at 11 AM daily. Closing is 1 AM from Sunday to Thursday and 2 AM on Friday and Saturday.

Who runs it

SIGA, Nekaneet and the name

Opened in December 2008 just off the TransCanada Highway, Living Sky Casino serves the south-west of Saskatchewan. It is one of seven casinos in the province operated by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), which lists it with Nekaneet First Nation. SIGA, a First Nations non-profit set up in 1995, returns all of its net proceeds to Saskatchewan.

The name Living Sky refers to the northern lights and the stars and their link with earlier generations of First Nations ancestors. Guests must be 19 or older, and every show is 19+. Anyone under 19 counts as a prohibited individual and cannot be paid winnings.

Living Sky Casino's gaming floor holds 196 slot machines in five denominations: $.01, $.02, $.05, $.25 and $1. The floor is open from 10 AM to 2 AM, seven days a week. Holiday hours are not published; a call to 306-778-5759 settles it.

The 9 live table games start at 5 PM. They run to 1:30 AM from Sunday to Thursday and to 2 AM on Friday and Saturday. Poker begins at 6 PM, and no closing hour for it is published. Living Sky Casino's own visitor page points to several places in town. The list covers the Swift Current Museum, the Art Gallery of Swift Current and Doc's Town. It also names the Swift Current Ag & Ex and the Chinook Parkway. Any of them can fill the hour before supper. The casino stands 2.4 km from the town centre in a straight line, with plenty of parking on its own lot.

Swift Transit's Red Line runs Monday to Saturday from 7 AM to 7 PM, and the last run leaves at 6 PM. No casino stop is published, and statutory holidays have no service. The fare is $3.00 one way, exact change. Buses stop long before the floor closes, so settle the ride home first.

    Living Sky Casino is a casino on the ground, and none of its own pages offers online casino play. In Saskatchewan, the one legal site for online gambling is PlayNow.com, operated by SIGA and open to players 19 and older. It went live in the province in November 2022.
